Press release
The next shipment of spent nuclear fuel from Germany is scheduled to leave on 29 August and arrive at the COGEMA rail terminal in Valognes on 30 August.

It will contain a total of 12 fuel elements, packed in one TN 13/2 cask.
This fuel comes from the nuclear power plants at Biblis.

The fuel elements will be placed in the pools at the COGEMA La Hague plant for cooling. They will then be reprocessed to separate out the recyclable materials. The wastes will be conditioned and sent back to Germany for permanent storage.
