AREVA signs an agreement on professional training

5/17/2006
Press release
On May 5, 2006, AREVA and the CGT, CFDT, CFTC, CFE-CGC and SPAEN-UNSA trade union bodies signed an agreement on professional training within the group in France.

The agreement runs for a period of three years and aims to enable each employee to be more involved in assessing, maintaining and developing his/her skills.
- AREVA is aiming for 30 hours of training per year per employee, including the DIF (individual training request), by 2008.
- The agreement organizes the range of human resources tools available over and above the training plan. It sets the pace and type of contact with the employee. The annual appraisal, professional appraisal and ten-yearly assessment… are supplemented by a “training passport”. This document will make it easier to monitor the stages in an employee's career (initial training, jobs held, training attended, qualifications, etc.) in order to help each employee consider how to best manage his/her skills.
- The agreement also favors access to professional training.

This agreement follows on from two agreements already signed on mobility and upstream job management. It falls within the scope of “lifelong training” legislation in place since May 2004, the national interprofessional agreement of December 2003 and several agreements at professional level.

Commenting on the agreement, Philippe Vivien, Senior Vice President, Human Resources at AREVA says "this agreement gives each employee the resources to fit in in the group and make progress on a professional level throughout his/her career. It is in keeping with the issues of demographic renewal and expansion of the group. With each employee involved in directing his/her own career path, AREVA hopes to nurture its skills in line with the group's image of excellence, and long-term employability of each employee."
