Press release

AREVA has announced the launch of its new international Non-destructive Examination Technical Center – NETEC - to perform all “base-NDE-technology” R&D, plus probe and NDE equipment development. NETEC is part of the AREVA’s Services Business Unit Organization.

Based on its long and successful history of NDE leadership in the nuclear industry with significant programs in AREVA’s subsidiaries in France (Intercontôle), Germany (intelligeNDT), and USA. (AREVA NP Inc), this new international center will:

  • Improve technological leadership in nuclear service NDE
  • Create a worldwide NDE technology competence center for the entire AREVA group leading to more responsive development
  • Improve integration within Nuclear Services of AREVA’s NDE development resources to enhance their global product offering
  • Enhance probe design capabilities to increase performance while reducing cost and fabrication schedule.

Bill Glass, newly appointed Director, is very enthusiastic about the center.  He states that “NETEC’s focus is to enhance AREVA’s R&D efficiency and creativity by considering perspectives from France, Germany, and the US for a more global solution to the NDE challenges facing our worldwide customers and nuclear industry. Our NDE engineers and scientists are among the best in the industry and are well respected in this specialized community.  Most will remain in their regional home organizations; however, R&D will be managed by technology disciplines with participants from the three countries.”
