Véronique Decobert is appointed AREVA Senior Vice President, Safety, Health and Security, and remains Vice-President, Safety, Health and Security at COGEMA.

She will also coordinate relations with the Nuclear Safety Authority on behalf of the AREVA group.

She reports directly to the Executive Board.

Within the scope of the group's Sustainable Development and Continuous Improvement policy, she draws up policies in these fields and manages and coordinates their implementation.

Véronique Decobert, 47, holds an engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieur de Chimie in Paris and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Pétroles et Moteurs. She also holds an MBA from the State University of New York at Albany. Véronique began her career as an engineer at SGN, an engineering subsidiary of COGEMA and later joined the Treatment Division of COGEMA. In 1996, she was appointed Director, Safety and Quality at Transnucléaire, a COGEMA subsidiary. In 1998, she was appointed Director, Safety and Quality for the COGEMA La Hague establishment before becoming director of Transnucléaire's North-West operations in 2000.

She was appointed Nuclear Safety Inspector for COGEMA in 2001. In July 2003, she was appointed Vice President Safety, Health & Security at COGEMA and Head of AREVA's General Inspectorate for Nuclear Safety.
