Press release

As part of its environment, health and occupational safety policy and pursuant to its Values Charter, AREVA signed a partnership agreement with the French construction industry's professional prevention organization, the OPPBTP, on April 26, 2010. AREVA’s objective is to improve occupational health and safety at its major construction sites in southern France, particularly the Georges Besse II and Comurhex II plants at Tricastin and Malvési. This initiative is in furtherance of its "zero accident" objective in the area of occupational safety.

Under the agreement, AREVA and the OPPBTP will expand their activities to optimize risk management and improve working conditions, thereby preventing occupational hazards and promoting a health and safety culture among all employees at all group and subcontractor companies.

For Frédéric de Agostini, director of the AREVA Tricastin site, "this agreement is an extension of the signature of safety charters between the group and all of its subcontractors working on the major construction projects in southern France – Georges Besse II and Comurhex II – and symbolizes the high level of professionalism demanded on a daily basis at all of our facilities."

About the OPPBTP:

as a partner organization to professionals in the building and public works industry, the OPPBTP serves as an advisor on prevention, occupational safety, health and improved working conditions. Its three key missions are to advise, to train and to inform.
