AREVA Tricastin – First Diversity Café on July 1st, 2010

The group’s first Diversity Café was held at the AREVA Tricastin site on Thursday, July 1, 2010. With résumés and prospecting letters in hand, fifteen young people between the ages of 16 and 25 showed up at the site to consult with the recruiters from the AREVA Tricastin Human Resources department. These young people have problems either in school or in finding jobs and are registered at one of the local youth employment offices.

The event is designed to give youth the opportunity to speak directly to recruiting specialists to learn more about things like how to search for jobs, write a résumé, or present themselves.

As AREVA Tricastin Diversity Manager Laurence Mialaret-Tabaries says, “We saw this event as part of a corporate social responsibility initiative, in line with our groupwide social, ethnic and cultural diversity policy. It wasn’t at all meant to be a recruiting operation, but rather a consultative one based on constructive, informative exchanges.” The young people apparently found this first experience very interesting, and left the site with a better grasp of corporate life.
