Arrival of the MOX Shipment from France to Japan

6/27/2013
Press release

Following their departure from the Cherbourg Harbor, France, on April 17th 2013, the ships called Pacific Heron and Pacific Egret safely arrived today in Japan.

The teams from the Japanese utility Kansai Electric Power Company (Kepco) have unloaded the cargo of 20 MOX fuel assemblies supplied by AREVA at the Takahama nuclear power plant.

The British company PNTL ― of which AREVA and its customer Kepco are shareholders ― ensured safely and securely the shipment to Japan.

With the group's 50-year nuclear transportation experience, this 5th MOX shipment to Japan demonstrates AREVA’s ability to propose to its clients a successful organisation to deliver safely MOX fuel assemblies made at its Melox plant in France.
