Created in 2008, the Matins du soleil association (“sunny mornings”) offers health, education and agricultural development programs in northern Niger.
The AREVA Corporate Foundation is funding the organization and execution of two medical and health tours of the bush in northern Niger in a radius of 200 to 300 kilometers around Agadez to reach isolated, nomadic and semi-nomadic populations.

Each tour lasts 12 days and is done with a specially equipped four-wheel drive truck. The objective is to assist isolated populations or those distant from medical centers by bringing:
- on-site medical and preventive care (vaccinations),
- a diagnostic approach for potential orientation towards a suitable care center,
- education on preventive hygiene and health.
Women and children are the particular focus of the program, which is carried out in collaboration with the regional public health department, the mayors and the village chiefs.
The first tour had been leaded in October 2015 for 9 villages near Arlit.
More than 1 000 patients had been received and 300 had done a training course on preventive hygiene and health.
