A majority of French people in favor of nuclear energy

Brief
At the request of the French Energy Observatory, the Research Center for the Study and Observation of Living Standards (CREDOC) conducted a survey in early 2004 among 2,009 people age 18 and up. According to the survey, the unstable international scene and general economic conditions have continued to weigh on French spirits.

In fact, the answers to questions on energy confirm a reversal of the trend observed in 2002-2003: France’s energy self-sufficiency is once again becoming a priority objective, with the result that the majority supports using nuclear power to generate three-fourths of France’s electricity.
Also, the heat wave of the summer of 2003 made French people aware of the need to change their transportation habits.
