News brief

AREVA is an official partner in the tenth national jobs for the disabled week organized by ADAPT, an association for the social and professional insertion of disabled people in France.

This initiative comes in addition to the Europe-wide efforts that AREVA has been making since June 2005 with representatives of the European Works Committee, towards drawing up an agreement on equality in the workplace (for the disabled and gender equality).

In France, actions relating to providing jobs for the disabled are managed by the Diversity Mission. The AREVA group is committed to developing and recognizing all talents. For Philippe Vivien, Senior Executive Vice President, Human Resources, "this event is an excellent opportunity to express our ability to take action for others and change the way we perceive differences".

During the week, AREVA is being actively involved in actions such as ''Job dating" sessions taking place in main French group locations. The group is also involved in a whole day "student-company meetup", organized in association with HANDISUP.

AREVA is working with ADAPT to record an audio CD illustrating ten good reasons to recruit disabled workers. The group is also launching a radio advertising campaign, especially through interviews. At last, numerous AREVA group sites located in France are participating by holding their own events such as conferences, debates, art exhibitions and theatre productions, film screenings, talks, presentations of work by sites and companies who provide job opportunities in environments adapted to disabled people, welcoming job-seeking interns, sporting events, etc.
