Four casks of spent fuel from the Italian nuclear power plant of Caorso arrived at the Valognes railway terminal serving the AREVA La Hague plant on May 27, 2008, at 2 :55 pm.
The fuel elements will be reprocessed to recover valuable materials and condition the final waste for return to Italy for disposal.
