Dialogue and consensus-building: summary of the "Stakeholders Session"

With the social and environnemental rating by Innovest, the "Stakeholders Session" is one of the highlights of the year 2005 in the group's dialogue and consensus-building policy.

This initiative to consult external stakeholders was divided into two phases. An initial session was held on September 14, 2004, during which AREVA listened to stakeholders, and a second session was held on February 9, 2005, during which AREVA answered the questions raised.

Comité 21*, reference authority in France for sustainable development, acted as an independent middleman and organized the process.

With regard to external stakeholders, Comité 21 chose 15 different organizations representing NGOs (in the fields of environmental protection, North-South development, solidarity and human rights), social and economic agencies, national and international institutions.

For AREVA, the group's main operational departments were asked to participate, including the Sustainable Development and Continuous Improvement, Strategy, Communications, Financial Communications, Research and Innovation, Human Resources and Safety, Health and Security departments.

Comité 21 has made a summary report of the Stakeholders Session, which includes a summary of the commitments AREVA undertook during the discussions.
