Brief
A survey of 2,018 Canadians 18 years and up conducted by Environics in June 2003 revealed that half of the population favors the use of nuclear power to generate electricity in Canada, an increase over 2002.

Many Canadians consider nuclear power to be less harmful to the environment than other sources of energy and to offer benefits in the field of medical diagnosis and research and in terms of cost.
The poll concludes that people tend to support nuclear power when they know and understand the stakes involved.
