Treatment activity :

During this period, 26 tons of spent fuel assemblies from french and german power plants have been processed on the site.

From all treated assemblies, a total of 306 tons have been processed to date this year.

This week 15 canisters of fission products(2) have been produced. Since the beginning of the year, 171 canisters have been produced.

Since the beginning of the year, the facility of hulls compaction (ACC) produced 163 canisters of compacted residues(3)

Roundabout tours come back : Discover COGEMA the non-business end
The COGEMA Information Point, associated a roundabout tour, proposes to make fuller knowledge with the environment of La Hague and the policy of the Establishment to preserve it.
The COGEMA Information Point accommodates the public of Monday to Friday : 10 am - 6 pm and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays : 1 - 7 pm.

(1) Because of the public holidays, "Weekly report" relates exceptionally to two weeks.
(2)The fission products (ultimate residues of spent fuel) are incorporated in heated glass to approximately 1100°C. The whole is poured in stainless steel containers. The fission products are an integral part of stable, compact and resistant glass. This process is called vitrification.
(3)It is about the metal envelope of the spent fuel assemblies as well as metal waste resulting from maintenance operations of the installations.
