At the UP2 plant, shearing of fuel assemblies from a batch of EDF 900 MWe fuel continued in the R1 head-end facility. A total of 41 metric tons of uranium have been processed to date this year.
At the R7 vitrification facility, two lines are in operation. A total of 7 canisters of glass have been produced to date this year.
At the UP3 plant, all facilities are shut down.
At the T7 vitrification facility, one line is in service. A total of 10 canisters of glass have been produced to date this year.
Work in the Moulinets Cove
Work continues on modifications to the discharge pipe in the tidal basin:
- radiological monitoring of sediments has revealed no anomalies, although there are fluctuations close to the old discharge pipe;
- excavation at the nose of the incline was completed using a “spider” shovel during very low tides occurring over the week-end;
- sections of steel pipe sleeving were submersed, positioned and attached to base plates anchored in the backfilling.
