Treatment activity:

During this period, the Establishment  treated 44,63 tons of spent fuel assemblies from EDF power plants.
From all treated assemblies, a total of 744,86 tons have been processed to date this year.

During this period, 17 canisters of vitrified fission products have been produced(1).
Since the beginning of the year, 330 canisters have been produced.

It should be noted that the facility of hulls compaction (ACC) produced 27 canisters of compacted residues.
Since the beginning of the year, 553 canisters have been produced.

The week of the sustainable development "Today for Tomorrow" proceeded June, 16th to June, 23th on the Establishment. Every days from 4:30 am to 22:00 pm, an itinerant stand went to the meeting of paid on about thirty points in the plant. Facility at the restaurant, organizers presented the various aspects of the sustainable development, its challenges and the engagement of the Establishment. To enclose this week, a Coffee of sciences on the topic "Energy, which challenges for tomorrow" was organized Thurday, June 24th in Art's Café.


(1)The fission products (ultimate residues of spent fuel) are incorporated in heated glass to approximately 1100°C. The whole is poured in stainless steel containers. The fission products are an integral part of stable, compact and resistant glass. This process is called vitrification.
