Treatment activity:

During this period, the UP2 800 and UP3 plants treated 28,6 tons of spent fuel. From all treated assemblies, a total of 294 tons have been processed to date this year.

During this period, 13 canisters of vitrified fission products have been produced(1) in R7 and 13 in T7, vitrification facilities.
Since the beginning of the year, 247 canisters have been produced.

The facility of hulls compaction (ACC) produced 38 canisters of compacted residues.
Since the beginning of the year, 315 canisters have been produced.

The Information Space of the COGEMA La Hague plant opened on Saturday April, 2nd. This discovery space is opened everyday and allows the public to get to know the plant activity through a permanent show and a roundabout tour in the natural Cap de la Hague environment. Free of charge and opened to anyone without any age condition nor further ado, the coach tour allows the discovery of our monitoring actions regarding the environment.

(1)The fission products (ultimate residues of spent fuel) are incorporated in heated glass to approximately 1100°C. The whole is poured in stainless steel containers. The fission products are an integral part of stable, compact and resistant glass. This process is called vitrification.
