Treatment activity:
  
During this period,  7 tons of spent fuel were processed. A portion of the facilities is shut down to prepare for a campaign of shearing MOX fuel. From all treated assemblies, a total of 846 tons have been processed to date this year.
  
During this period, 13 canisters of vitrified fission products has been produced(1) in the vitrification facilities. Since the beginning of the year, 560 canisters have been produced.
  
The facility of hulls compaction (ACC) produced 33 canisters of compacted residues. Since the beginning of the year, 1119 canisters have been produced.

 ... Environmental tours during school holidays
Original and educational visits to a better understanding of the activity of AREVA NC site in La Hague, as well as its environmental commitment.  After a presentation to the information space, visitors will leave by bus around the site for a tour in 6 stages commented on the discovery of the monitoring actions regarding the environment. AREVA does not let environment out of sight : come and see it...

(1)The fission products (ultimate residues of spent fuel) are incorporated in heated glass to approximately 1100°C. The whole is poured in stainless steel containers. The fission products are an integral part of stable, compact and resistant glass. This process is called vitrification.
