The AlphaB program is a network of 270 associations that are dedicated to the fight for literacy in the Ile-de-France region.
Their efforts are helping about 70,000 people, 30,000 children and 40,000 adults, especially women, to acquire the basic reading and writing skills they need to function in their daily lives.

AlphaB acts as an interface by assisting tutors in the field, offering them teaching assistance and innovative tools, as well as the opportunity to promote their work to institutions or financers.

In 2015 the AREVA Corporate Foundation has supported:

  • create a training program for 100 volunteers to help them tutor children and adolescents who are failing in school and adults who are unable to read and write in French,
  • draw up a tutoring guidebook for volunteers who work on cultural projects, based on their own positive experiences with the help of the association “Cultures du Coeur”. It has been launched at the beginning of year 2016.
