AREVA Foundation: when health meets culture in South Africa

AREVA Foundation has been funding a program since 2006 to provide material and psychosocial assistance to young people affected by Aids living in a shantytown of Johannesburg, in partnership with the Secours populaire français and the Ekupholeni association.

Also in Johannesburg, the Foundation is providing support to an exhibition of paintings by the French masters, “Masters of the 20th Century: the Human Figure” in association with the French Season in South Africa.

Close to 150 young people participated in three cultural and educational workshops during the exhibition. They also had a guided tour of the French 20th century masterworks exhibition and afterwards attended a graphic arts workshop on the human figure.
