3N symposium Anne Lauvergeon speaker in front of customers

With 150 customers from 20 countries, the 3N2010 Symposium was a great success. Feedback was excellent, largely thanks to the quality of the contributions given by both major utilities and AREVA representatives.

During the three-day event, AREVA got a unique opportunity to listen to its customers, in order to better meet their expectations. On the customer side, participants could benefit from insights and answers of international experts on today’s main nuclear challenges.

During the Plenary Sessions, prestigious keynote speakers, including top management executives from some key customers - E.On Energy AG, EDF, Axpo AG - addressed general topics.

In his speech, Luc Oursel focused on existing operations and shared with the audience AREVA’s ongoing priorities. He recalled AREVA’s commitment to provide customers with power energy certainty.

The first plenary session was concluded by Anne Lauvergeon, AREVA CEO, who insisted on “committing, delivering and performing”.

During Focus Sessions, a large range of topics were discussed, such as improving plant performance, securing the fuel cycle, managing aging phenomena, ensuring human resources continuity and developing innovative partnerships for customers. With 50% presentations delivered by customers, the sessions were a good opportunity to share ideas and learn from each other.

In addition to the wealth of subjects broached during the Plenary and Focus Sessions, the 3N 2010 Symposium also offered participants the perfect opportunity to meet AREVA technical specialists during the Technical Exhibition.

The 800 m2 venue area was entirely given over to showing how AREVA solutions meet customers’ expectations.

All AREVA’s Business Activities were present with dedicated areas. This includes:

  • Outage and Maintenance,
  • Upgrading, I&C and I.T.,
  • Aging Management and Materials,
  • Fuel Cycle,
  • New Reactors

Mock-ups like the submarine robot SUSI, TECSA, the third-generation thermocouple column sealing system, RANGER, the robotic arm for Steam Generators inspection and ECLIPSE, a new inspection tool for PWR Control Rods Guide Tubes, provided hands-on experience of AREVA’s state-of-the art services for customers' existing plants, with the emphasis on innovations, performance and long-term perspectives.

3N2010 was also an ample opportunity for professional and personal networking, through breaks, dining and social programs: an experience that was greatly appreciated by all our guests.
