News brief

AREVA welcomes the preliminary rulling issued by UOHS (the Czech Office for the Protection of Economic Competition, a body responsible for supervision of public procurement processes) by which it has prohibited CEZ to sign the contract for Temelin extension. AREVA appreciates that all future actions from CEZ on TEMELIN tender are under the strict control of UOHS in order to ensure a transparent and fair procedure.

AREVA has full confidence in UOHS to investigate the facts fairly, in a transparent manner and in full independence.

AREVA firmly believes that the exclusion decision has been taken in violation of  the Czech law and of the Procurement Act.

AREVA also believes its comprehensive and detailed offer, handed to CEZ in July, is in compliance with the statutory requirements under the Czech legislation as well as the tender criteria. Such a situation is without precedent in the nuclear industry and AREVA is determined to protect its interests.
