News brief

The hydraulic test of the Flamanville 3 EPR™ reactor vessel was carried out success-fully on Friday, July 26, at the AREVA site of Chalon/Saint-Marcel in the presence of representatives of EDF and of the nuclear safety authorities.

The hydraulic test is the final test of conformity and consists of pressurizing the body of the vessel and verifying its complete integrity. This key stage of the project marks the end of the manufacturing process and the beginning of preparations for shipment, which will take place in the fall. The vessel will then be installed in the reactor building.
