Inauguration of the first trainset equipped with electronic systems supplied by AREVA TA on the Line 9 of the Parisian Metro

11/7/2013

On October 21, Line 9 of the Parisian Metro saw the entry into service of the very first trainset equipped with electronic systems supplied by AREVA TA. The inaugural passenger journey began at Porte de Saint-Cloud station and ended at Saint-Augustin.

Organized by the Ile-de-France regional transport authority (STIF) and the Paris public transport operator (RATP), the inauguration brought together a hundred people, including Jean-Paul Huchon, President of the Ile-de-France regional council and Chairman of STIF, Pierre Mongin, CEO of RATP, AREVA TA represented by CEO Benoît Bazire, and Jacques Gérault, AREVA senior EVP, Public Affairs. Several parliamentary representatives, senators and mayors of arrondissement affected by the itinerary of the line also attended this event.

Emmanuel Bailly, manager of the transport I&C product line, commented “this inauguration is a source of great satisfaction for the AREVA TA team involved in this project. This is a threefold success, because three of our systems have been commissioned simultaneously on this trainset: the MF01 train’s onboard safety IT system, the Octys* onboard automatic control system (used in manual mode initially), and the track-to-train data transfer system (TDST)”.

Already in operation on the 50 trains of RATP Line 5 since May 2012, to the utmost satisfaction of our customer, all these systems will now be installed on the 66 trains of Line 9.
